A survey conducted by RecruitingTrends.com earlier this year uncovered that recruiters aren’t the evil, uncaring people that jobseekers sometimes think they are. According to the survey, recruiters do give consideration for certain challenges that jobseekers face, such as gaps in employment, lack of transferable skills, and so on.
The survey indicated that of the 111 national recruiters asked, the following came to light
- Over 80% don’t view gaps in employment as harshly as jobseekers think
- Nearly 90% think volunteering to fill employment gaps is a good idea
- Over 90% surveyed gave a thumbs up for temporary and consulting roles
- Nearly 50% consider jobseekers who are pursuing career change
