About

Do you believe in fate? When one factors the size of the Internet “world,” there’s probably a bit of happenstance that you happened across my corner of the online world.

The Resume to Referral blog focuses on the “who’s and what’s” relevant to everything involving a person’s professional career; i.e. personal branding, content management, resume and cover letter writing, online job-search strategies, career forecasting and planning … and a slew of others!

Although streamlining one’s efforts and steering one’s career is critical to overall success, let’s be honest, navigating through the ins and outs of everything involving a job hunt can be, well, a *bitch* and here’s why:

Jobseekers face more challenges today while navigating the “2009 Job-Search World” than they ever did. Recruiters are short on time; and well, human resources reps seem to have even less. An increasing number of jobs are being filled through referrals and internal candidates. Resumes aren’t the easy one-page documents with a straightforward one- or two-line intro statement either. Resumes have grown to become masterpieces, in fact. Throw hot-and-heavy resources like LinkedIn, FaceBook, and Twitter into the mix, and well, this isn’t your 1990′s job search anymore.

Gosh, how things have changed!

Here at this blog, I take the mundane, the challenging, the new and the farfetched, and I put it on display for discussion. What I do for readers of this blog? What’s in it for you? I provide the advice needed to “outperform, outdo, and outwit” the job-search gauntlet for a stronger job-search, stronger career, and stronger YOU.
